Fun Challenges for Families

With most events and travel plans being canceled or postponed, many kids at home all week due to Spring Break or school closings, and a rainy forecast to boot, we know that a lot of families will be looking for something to stave off boredom. To help, we are creating fun daily challenges that you can do together in your own home. Check back each day, Monday through Friday, to see what the challenge is for that day. Then, after completing the challenge, post your results to social media using #SpringfieldChallenge and tagging @scclomira. We’ll pick our favorite each day and share it for everyone to enjoy!

Time Lapse Videos

Keeping busy while at home? Film yourself doing something interesting, complicated, or funny in time-lapse mode, so that the resulting video makes it look like you have super-speed. Quickly post the time-lapse using #SpringfieldChallenge.

Taco Tuesday

Running out of dinner ideas that fit what you have in the fridge? Let’s create something new with whatever you have on hand! Since a taco is essentially a flat piece of bread folded around some kind of toppings, you can make just about anything into a taco. For today’s challenge, make (and eat) an unusual taco of your own creation. Share the photos or video (and recipe, if you want) using #SpringfieldChallenge.

How Great Thou Art

Break out the paint, pencils, or crayons and create a new masterpiece for the art gallery and/or fridge. It should be based on or inspired by your favorite Bible passage. Take a photo of your artwork and share it using #SpringfieldChallenge.

Blast from the Past

Show us what life was like (and what you looked like) back in the day with our retro photo challenge. Post your best blast from the past and let everyone see how cute you were as a kid or how dated your style was when you started dating. Share it on that new-fangled social media using #SpringfieldChallenge.

Lights, Camera, Action

Film yourself acting out a Bible story. The challenge is that you have to do it all in less than 30 seconds, and you can use only costumes or props that you already have around the house. Film your half-minute movie and post it to social media using #SpringfieldChallenge.

Our Weekly Challenge

More of your neighbors are walking by your house than ever before! Share the hope of the gospel on your sidewalk or street with Bible verses displayed in colorful and creative chalk art. When you’re done, snap a photo of your creation and share it on social media using #SpringfieldChallenge. On Friday evening we’ll pick our favorite as the winner!
